Your site has a Main navigation menu — which populates the primary, horizontal navigation with drop-down menus, as well as the sidebar navigation — and a Secondary Menu — which appears adjacent to the search box. You can edit and/or reorganize the items within these menus.
Edit your Main navigation menu
- Select Structure > Menus > Main navigation from the administration toolbar.
- Click Edit in the Operations column of the menu item you want to edit.
- From here, you can change the title, path or parent link for the menu item.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
Rearrange the menu items
- Select Structure > Menus > Main navigation from the administration toolbar.
- Find the menu item you want to move, and put your cursor on the drag-and-drop handle
- Click and hold, then drag the menu item to the new location and release.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
Add a new menu item
- Select Structure > Menus > Main navigation from the administration toolbar.
- Click Add Link.
- Enter the Menu link title.
- Enter the Link.
- For a link to a page within the site, start typing the title of the desired page; the look-ahead menu will populate with pages that match the title you are typing — find and select the desired page. Alternatively, you can enter the page’s path alias (e.g. /path/to-the/page).
- For an external link, enter the URL (e.g. https://www.duke.edu)
- Select where in the site hierarchy you want the new menu item to appear using the Parent link drop-down. Select the menu item under which the new link should be placed as a child item.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
Note: To edit or reorganize the Secondary Menu, simply follow the same steps above, but in Step 1 select the Secondary Menu instead of Main navigation.
