Create an Opportunity

Not all sites are configured to display opportunity content. If you would like to start using this content type, please contact Trinity Communications for an initial consultation regarding how this could work with your site and where you want the content to be displayed.

  1. Select Content ⇒ Add content ⇒ Opportunity from the administration toolbar.
  2. Provide the following:
    • Title (required),
    • Description (required),
    • Closing date (required; defaults to current date plus ~10 months),
    • Type (required), and
    • Timeframe (required)
  3. Click Save

Note that Type and Timeframe, both of which are required, depend on terms existing in the respective vocabularies: Opportunity types and Opportunity timeframes. For example, you might have types of opportunities such as “Internship”, “Professional Development”, and “Research Study”, and timeframes such as “Academic Year“, “Summer”, and “Post-graduation”. How to display

There are four views available to display this content on a page, with a variety of exposed filters. In each view, the opportunity nodes are displayed as a list (title and a truncated description with a link to read more) of items. When the Closing date is older than the current date, the item will be removed from the opportunity view. If Trinity Communications determines this functionality is appropriate for your site, they will help determine which display to use based on the opportunities you wish to add to your site.
