Site editors with access to edit paragraph content (e.g. accordions or tabs) also have the ability to either delete or unpublish that content. There are several reasons an editor may want to unpublish a paragraph instead of deleting it:
- Temporarily hide outdated information. Remove content that is no longer current while keeping it available for future use.
- Prepare content for future publication. Draft updates or new content in advance without displaying them on the live site.
- Review or revise content. Hide a paragraph while edits are being made or while it is awaiting approval.
- Preserve content without deleting it. Unpublishing allows you to retain the paragraph and its formatting so it can be restored later if needed.
How to Unpublish a Paragraph
- Log in to your website and navigate to the page that contains the paragraph you want to hide.
- Click the Edit tab to access the editing interface.
- Locate the paragraph you want to unpublish.
- Expand the paragraph by clicking its Edit button.
- Toggle Published to Off:
- Click Save in the top-right corner of the editing interface.
After the page is saved, the unpublished paragraph will no longer appear on the live website, but it will remain available in the page for future editing or republishing.
How to Re-publish a Paragraph
- Navigate to the page containing the unpublished paragraph.
- Click the Edit tab.
- Locate the unpublished paragraph. It is marked with the Unpublished icon:
. - Expand the paragraph by clicking its Edit button.
- Toggle Published to On:
- Click Save in the top-right corner.
Once the page is saved, the paragraph will once again be visible on the live website.
Notes
- Unpublishing a paragraph affects only that individual paragraph, not the entire page.
- Remember to save the page after changing a paragraph's publication status. Changes are not applied until the page is saved.
- Unpublished paragraphs remain available to editors and can be republished at any time.
